If you’re looking for a reliable vehicle, you can’t do much better than a GMC. According to a recent survey by iSeeCars, GMC is one of the longest-lasting brands on the road. In particular, GMC models such as the GMC Yukon XL, Sierra 1500, and Canyon ranked among the vehicles consistently driven 200,000 miles or more.
Nearly 16 million vehicles were evaluated as part of the survey, which showed that GMC vehicles typically last longer than many of the brand’s competitors. Approximately 1.4 percent of all GMC models reach 200,000 miles or more, which put the brand in third place in the world. The GMC Yukon XL was the GMC model that was most likely to last the longest, reaching an impressive 300,000 miles in some cases.
“Truck-like SUVs and pickup trucks account for the majority of the list of vehicles that are most likely to reach 200,000 miles,” said iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly. “However, consumers looking for vehicles in other categories can find a reliable high-mileage hauler to suit their needs.”
The Yukon XL is designed with high-strength steel, with an efficiently engineered EcoTec3 powertrain to provide optimal power without sacrificing gas mileage. Vehicles such as the Sierra 1500 frequently earn awards from JD Power for dependability and reliability as well, thanks to versatile designs and engineering that make GMC trucks and SUVs well suited for hard work and everyday driving.
